Furniture redo

17 Dec

Last week, I wanted to do something different. I decided to give the 20-year-old chairs at home a whole new look. A fresh look! Something edgier! More attractive!

Here’s how the chair looks like before.

And here it is after the change.

We’re also currently looking out for some unwanted vintage lounge/couch. Anyone knows any from the Perth metropolitan area?

By the way, Christmas is just around the corner!!! Is there anything from The Purl Shop you’d like to put on your Christmas list? =)

Ideas for Father’s Day

27 Aug

Here’s a simple idea of what you can do for your father this coming Father’s Day.

l.o.v.e.

1. Cut the letters L O V E on the back of an envelope.

2. Paste it on a piece of A4 paper.

There you have it. A simple way to tell your father that you love him this Father’s Day!

Here is a tiramisu recipe that I highly recommend. You can give it a try over the weekend.

Ingredients

* Kahlua missing in the photo above.

Tiramisu

A simple recipe but it taste just as good! A little messy but still good.

Headband

14 Jun

Here’s an easy weekend project that perhaps you can try.

All you need is just 2 long leather straps (Other alternatives would be 3 or 4 straps or you can even use your old bras’ strap), 2 smaller pieces of leather scraps, a rubber band, glue and scissors.

1. Cut up 2 small pieces of leather scraps as wide as 2 leather straps and apply glue as shown in the picture below.

2. Place the 2 leather straps on the glue, insert the rubber band and glue the leather scrap together leaving an allowance or loop for the rubber band.

3. Do the same to the other side of the leather strap.

There you have it!  A self-made Glecian headband that could cost you up to AUD$20 in local hair accessories stores, for less than $3.

Have a nice weekend!
